Vaccine Shortage & African Countries WHO head Tendros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made a very humble request on 04 th Aug 2021 to the rich and vaccine producing countries to halt the booster doses administration immediately and to consider with compassion on the regions where the shortage for vaccines are at it’s peak. He added that despite of the countries concern over the new delta variants which in turn creates a fright among their citizen s, they need to consider others with deep compassion. It is not the first time he urges for the “social equality” in the vaccine administration, but this statement was the strongest one since the outbreak of this deadly virus. Eventually, in other words, his request was literally for Africa where the worst rate of vaccination prevails. He is thinking that the “ Billionaire ” countries would hear his plead this time. The following extract will show the depth of this problem ( Courtesy- Financial Times Covid-19 Vaccine tracker ); Country ...

Fox Trail with Jayesh Saini & Kuruvila It was the third day of Eid Holidays when I got a phone call from Jayesh Saini. Jayesh Saini who hails from Nairobi, Kenya but have roots in India is a good friend of mine. Even though we don’t chat or call regularly, we keep a good friendship between us for the past 10 years. Due to Covid protocol restrictions, the get together were restricted in Dubai and hence didn’t do much for the first 3 days of the Eid Holidays. So, when Jayesh Saini shared this great Idea of hiking, I didn’t have to think twice. As usual, we made a detailed plan. He will join me at my Mirdif Villa and along with our common friend Kuruvila, we will leave by early morning 5.00 am. And as usual, he came by 5.30, I woke up and got ready by 6.15 and Kuruvila joined us by 7 o’ clock (he..he.. bachelor trip plans are always like this).   We took Jayesh Saini’s X-Terra as he had his company fuel card (being economical J ). I deliberately took the steering as I...

Kids and Covid Trauma Covid-19 has taught us a lot… It was an eye opener for majority of the human race. It revealed the true state of the so called “efficient” health systems of some of the developed countries… It taught us that an office space is a mere wastage of space for some sectors.. It pointed out the fact that we need more health institutions in the worls than religious centres… It showed that the money is sometimes a piece of paper or just few ounces of metal… However, the most revolutionary change was in the sector of education. There was a big transformation in the educational sector wherein homes were converted to class rooms, parents had to actively involve in their kid’s educational activities and sometimes had to take a “teacher avatar”. It is interesting to note that most of the kids in the higher grade want to go to school or to have a physical class rather than sitting at home and listening to the mono-syllable hours-long lectures whereas the kids in lower grad...

Anti-Vaccine Campaigns; How Dangerous? Since its origin in 1796 , Vaccines are widely opposed by some despite of its great contributions towards eradication of contagious or other deadly diseases. The smallpox vaccine was the first  vaccine  to be developed against a contagious disease. In 1796 , the British doctor  Edward Jenner  demonstrated that an infection with the relatively mild  cowpox  virus conferred immunity against the deadly  smallpox  virus. Cowpox served as a natural vaccine until the modern smallpox vaccine emerged in the 19th century. The term  vaccine  derives from the Latin word for cow, reflecting the origins of smallpox vaccination. Amongst the vaccine haters , there were literates, illiterates and even some medical practitioners. The reasons for the oppose are sometimes religious or lack of sterilized procedures, otherwise pure business or political . However, modern education has provided nota...
